Live Like There’s An Ending
We are quite docile, this generation.
We tend to meet inside our halls,
some dimly lit, while others made of marble,
and we like to discuss topics of the Heavens above.
Oh, but once the clock has struck the hour
the members all scatter outward
and away from the hall, almost as if it never existed at all.
It’s there that the conversations will end.
We like to keep it exclusive,
Oh, of course tell your friends!
The more the merrier, that is -
if they fit into our plan and style,
We’d love to have them around awhile.
Awhile, meaning long enough to get their name on paper.
Afterwards we can neglect them,
and they will gladly return the favor -
People love to live as if an eye can equal an eye.
This, all of this, is such a problem - you see…
If all of us started living as if the moon had turned blood red,
or the trumpets were soon to sound,
I’d be glad to bet that we would all be finding some holy ground!
Running and telling,
searching and finding -
all those we could tell,
of the Heavens and our groups findings!
Too little too late,
just remember that everything you did will be counted (surely),
but it’s all that you didn’t do that will be stacked heavily against you.
I just hope we all start realizing how Great such a Commission is…
if you start living like there’s an ending, than surely you will profit in the end.
